Our Story
At the time, Troy was living in Maitland and working as a National Marketing Manager in Sydney. Regular travel made it difficult to balance work and family life, and it prompted a broader reassessment of how property was being sold locally.
While selling an investment property, Troy spent time speaking with a number of local agents. Through that process, it became clear that strong marketing strategy, digital visibility, and buyer-focused presentation were often underutilised. With a professional background in marketing and digital strategy, Troy recognised there was an opportunity to apply these skills more effectively to real estate, benefiting sellers through clearer positioning and more informed decision-making.
Maitland Real Estate Agents was established as an independent, boutique agency built around that principle. From the outset, the focus was on understanding how buyers search, how properties are discovered online, and how tailored marketing strategies can influence outcomes, rather than just selling the same expensive advertising packages.
When Maitland Real Estate Agents launched, the local market included overseas brands. By establishing an independent, locally owned agency focused on clear advice and personal accountability, MREA pioneered an alternative approach, which provided greater choice in the local real estate landscape, which many agents have since followed.
As the business evolved, Maitland Real Estate Agents later operated under the Hunter Valley Property Group name. This reflected a broader regional focus while maintaining the same ownership, values, and hands-on approach. During this period, the agency continued to refine its marketing systems, deepen local market knowledge, and build strong relationships across the Maitland and Hunter regions. The recent return to the Maitland Real Estate Agents name reflects a renewed focus on the local area where the business was founded and operates today.
In 2026, Troy White and Maitland Real Estate Agents joined one of Australia’s oldest and most trusted real estate brands Elders Real Estate, as part of the Elders Real Estate Advantage Group, incorporating multiple offices across the Hunter Region.
